A Haitian native and Michigan resident since the 1970’s, Roland Wiener (b. 1924 – d. 2009) was an active member of the Friends of African American Art and was responsible for creating the permanent Haitian Art Collection at the Detroit Institute of Art. His Collection is brought to us by his wife, Martine, and his children, Alice, Gerard, and Charlotte.
