Noel Night at the N’Namdi Center!


The N’Namdi Center will be open till midnight!


2:30-4:30 p.m. – Jewelry making class with Kai Casselles
This program activity is designed to host all ages.  Participants will enjoy a jewelry making experience as their own unique heartfelt gifts for the holidays.

5:00-10:00 p.m. – Dance performances (20 minute intervals)

5:00-5:30 p.m. – Lil Dumplins with Shirel Jones
5:45-6:15 p.m. – Belly Dance (Adults & Children) with Derrienme Reese
6:30-7:00 p.m. – Hustle with Maurice Adams (Mr. Smooth & Co.)
7:15-7:45 p.m. – Ballroom
8:00-8:30 p.m. – Lindy Hop with Paulette Brockington
8:45-9:15 p.m. – Salsa
9:30-10:00 p.m. – Argentine Tango with Alex Moore & Randy Fisher

6:00-9:00 p.m. –  Non-profit Vendor Booths:

  • Kwanza – Nataki Educational Services

Storytelling / Theater performances (at the top of the hour)

Performance by: The Story Tellers
The Story Tellers are comprised of theatre and dance students from the Department of Theatre and Dance at Wayne State University. They are performers who revel in sharing an interpretation of life with others – through art, song, and dance. They have crafted a performance piece specific for Noel Night that serves the purpose of bringing love and light to the end of the year/holiday spirit. They have interwoven poetry, song, monologues, and dance into this performance piece, making it certain that all will enjoy it and have a wonderful time!

5:30-8:30p.m. – Book signing: Detroit the Dream is Now by Michel Arnaud

6:00-10:00 p.m. – Public Unveiling of 1001 Conversations About Color
Enjoy a magnificent display of 6×6 canvas paintings done by local artist Jocelyn Rainey.  Artwork will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Finding Mona Lisa 313: Urban Students Become Global Citizens and the N’Namdi Atelier.
